“I’ve always had some kind of routine, and I enjoy it more now that I’m older. [Though] I’m not religious about it,” admits Kate Hudson, who has such a relaxed attitude she even occasionally skips taking off her makeup at night—gasp! But make no mistake, while the 43-year-old star is easygoing, she still has a time-tested, three-pronged approach to staying glowing: sleep, hydration, and a special beauty supplement. And she’s sharing it, along with the rest of her beauty routine, today with Vogue

After a double-cleansing and face-masking session, Hudson, who stars in murder-mystery Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery out November 23, indulges in a special elixir. As founder of InBloom, Hudson formulated her own special powder supplement Beauty Aura, which is full of good-for-your-complexion ingredients like marine collagen and nutrient-rich berries. Dubbed her “dream product,” the actor goes on to explain its benefits, from supporting skin elasticity to strengthening hair and nails. Hudson also discusses her daily meditation practice, which she credits to her mother, Goldie Hawn, who taught her the importance of self-care, or “mental fitness” as she calls it. Back to skin care, she rounds out her routine with her Kate Hudson Loves Juice Beauty matcha-infused serumSymbiome’s restorative cream (a favorite of hers and Hawn’s), Laneige’s cult-favorite lip mask, and Dr. Barbara Sturm’s sun drops

With her skin prepped, it’s time for her signature “wake-up” makeup look—starting with a lightweight veil of RMS Beauty’s cream foundation tapped in with her fingers. To be gentle with her sensitive skin, Hudson prefers clean products; for example, Kosas’s formula is her concealer of choice, followed by Westman Atelier’s stick for contour. She then buffs a smokey shadow into her lids and lower lash line to elongate her almond-shaped eyes. “I feel like every face is so different, and you have to find the part of your face you want to accentuate,” says Hudson before adding a touch of champagne-hued highlighter, curling her lashes, and adding a coat of mascara to her lashes. Onto brows, she fills in sparse areas with a pencil and defines the shape with concealer. Then, swishes of highlighter and blush help her achieve a sun-kissed flush of color, while traces of lip liner and Honest Beauty lip and cheek pigment help her craft a green-eye-enhancing pink lip. Finally, a sheer layer of powder and By Terry’s bronzing spray provide the finishing touches. “I love you! Thanks for watching,” Hudson says as she signs off with a kiss.
