ARTIS BRUSHES | FLUENTA
I have been a hoarder of makeup brushes since I first got into makeup artistry. I haven’t worked as a makeup artist in a couple years now but I still have a deeply rooted love for specialty brushes. When I came across Artis Brushes I was instantly intrigued. As soon as you lay your eyes on them you will see why.
Artis Brushes look like something out of a Dali painting, am I right? I mean, they look like they are oddly bending and then the shape of the actual fibres in the brushes are different, too! These brushes are completely different than your typical makeup brushes. The Artis Brushes use fibre bundles that eliminate the need for a metal ferrule. The fibres are held in place by a proprietary method that allows them to be positioned in new ways for makeup brushes. Most Artis Brushes have the fibres aligned perpendicular to the handle and skin surface. This keeps the fibre tips continuously in contact with the skin during application and creates superior laydown and blending.
FLUENTA – OVAL 10
My favorite of the 3 that I have is the Oval 10 brush from the Fluenta line. When I first opened my package I decided to try it out for the first time on Periscope. (If you have an account DEFINITELY follow me- @LauraJean396) I was nervous because the brush makes applying foundation a completely different experience. How you hold the brush, how the brush touches your face, EVERYTHING is different.
This brush is intended for body art or adding powder but I use it to blend my foundation and I love it for that. It is so large that it completely covers one of my cheeks and just a few minutes later I am left with a flawless application. But seriously though, doesn’t it look like an old school hairbrush?
FLUENTA – LINEAR 3
This brush applies a perfect precise line of product along the upper lash line or tucked under the lower lash line. It can also be used for special effects makeup to create medium size lines and linear shapes. I love it for applying dark shadow on my upper and lower lash lines. It gives a soft diffused liner look and I am about to adventure into trying my gel liner with it. Maybe. I am still trying to wrap my head around it not being a typical liner brush so the thought of using gel liner with this is something I am still trying to cope with.
Look at how precise a point the tip comes to. The fact that it tapers off on the sides of the brush makes it perfect to me because I want the edge of my liner to taper just like that.
FLUENTA – CIRCLE 1R
This brush has a tilt from the handle and a round fibre bundle which ends in a curved dome of tips that provides soft yet focused application and blending. I love it for the crease/socket line as well as adding in a pop of highlight to the inner corner of the eyes.
What can I say? I am OBSESSED with these beauties! Artis Brushes are so different yet really amazing. I don’t think I have ever had a more flawless foundation application in the history of ever than I get with this brush. The smaller brushes are spectacular for the eyes. I have nothing negative to say about them. The price point on these are higher like other luxury brushes, but I think that is to be expected. You can find them at Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, and of course on the brand’s site.
Tell me in the comments below your first impression of Artis Brushes. Have you ever used them before? Have you seen them in person?
